4 Mouth-Healthy Tips for the Winter Season

With all the problems happening in your mouth, it can be hard to make smart choices for yourself and your mouth.

But don’t worry – we found a four-step approach to make sure you can eat, drink, and be very well

Eat: a healthy breakfast.
Start off with a good breakfast. Some options that are good for your body and your teeth are: fresh fruits, eggs, yogurt, and calcium-fortified cereal. Avoid sugary cereals and baked goods.

Drink: lots of water.
Drinking plenty of water is always a healthy idea. Water dilutes sugar you consume and flushes out bacteria from your mouth to keep it clean, plus staying hydrated helps keep your immune system and energy levels up.

Dry: your toothbrush.
Wet toothbrushes can harbor bacteria, so make sure yours is thoroughly dry, especially if you’re packing it for holiday travels. And always let your toothbrush air dry after each use

Wash: your hands.
This one may be a no-brainer, but be extra vigilant about washing away all the new bacteria you come in contact with—especially when you’re eating—to stay healthy all season long.
